RESEARCH LINES  
 

Development of innovative methodologies for the conservation of artifacts of artistic and archaeological history with emphasis on the stone materials.

Application of analytical methods for integrated diagnostics in cultural heritage.

Application of non-invasive protocols to the study of the materials of Cultural Heritage with particular reference to pictorial materials (paintings on canvas and wood, frescoes) and glassy materials (mosaics, stained glass windows).

CURRICULUM  
 

From January 2007, Senior Researcher at the Institute for Conservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of the CNR, Florence.

From May 1996, she was permanent researcher at the Institute for Conservation and Promotion of Cultural Heritage of the CNR, Florence. 1988-1996 was fellow and then a researcher at  IROE-CNR (now IFAC-CNR).

1988 degree in Chemistry at the University of Florence.

2009-2014 –ICVBC responsible ICVBC for the European Project CHARISMA (Advanced Research Infrastructure Cultural Heritage: Synergy for a Multidisciplinary Approach to Conservation/ Restoration). GA No. FP7- 228330 www.charismaproject.eu.

2004-2009 – Scientific Coordinator of research activity JRA1 [Development and evaluation of new treatments for the conservation-restoration of outdoor bronze and stone] in the framework of the European Project EU-ARTECH (Access Research and Technology for the Conservation of the European Cultural heritage Initiative) FP6 I3 506171.

2014-today participates FIRB-Marmora Phrygiae - National Project MIUR (3 year Project -2014-2016).

2004-today Appointed as Italian expert in the Scientific WG3 – “Conservation Works” of CEN-TC346 “Conservation of Cultural Heritage” Statement of the European Commission for standards in CH.

1996 – today UNI-Normal member in the National Committee for the standardization of analytical methods applied to the studies of degradation processes and restoration of works of art.

2006-today is Editor of Conservation and Art Materials Encyclopedia Online (CAMEO)del Museum of Fine Arts In Boston (USA)CAMEO-MFA http://cameo.mfa.org/wiki/About_CAMEO

2012-today Member of the Permanent Scientific Committeeof the International Congress on the Deterioration and Conservation of Stone.

 2014-today  Member of the Counsil of  Associazione Italiana di Archeometria – AIAr.

She collaborates together to the competent authorities for the protection of cultural heritage, conservators and restoration companies, in the studies for the conservation status, knowledge of materials and support to the restoration of historical interest.
