SUBJECT(S): God the Father creates the animals and the trees

CRITICAL NOTES: This is one of the three surviving panels of the Old Testament window painted by Maffiolo da Cremona (see files Duomo museo 7, 9). U. Monneret de Villard attributed these to Niccolò da Varallo. But C. Pirina, on the basis of several documents,distinguished the stylistic differences between the three artists active to the apse and assigned this panel and the other two to Maffiolo da Cremona (see files Duomo 1, 4)

CONDITION: In good condition although several replacements by P.Bertini plus 18 c. overpainting substitutions.
